Alliance Française Madrid Presents Houda Bakkali’s “Digital Art, Digital Culture” Project
Following the success of Houda Bakkali’s recent exhibition “Deadly Sins,” the Alliance Française of Madrid presents her project “Digital Art, Digital Culture.”
This is an artistic and educational initiative that weaves together physical and virtual art exhibitions with informative talks on the challenges, applications, and possibilities of digital art, exploring concepts such as digital art ecosystem, augmented reality, immersive spaces, etc., while highlighting the connection between art and new technologies in educational environments.
This innovative XR project forms part of the 40th anniversary cultural program of the Alliance Française of Madrid.
Physical and Virtual Exhibitions
The XR project created by Houda Bakkali is defined by physical and virtual art exhibitions and educational encounters that immerse audiences in color and feminine figures.
Alongside a tribute to beauty and the vision of a hopeful future, these elements represent the central and recurring themes in Houda’s work.
The versatility and dynamism of Bakkali’s creative process allow her work to be experienced through multiple platforms and media.
From the initial canvas to augmented reality, including audiovisual content, immersive and interactive spaces, and more, art becomes a multisensory experience designed not only to inspire but also to educate, inform, and entertain.
Bakkali proposes an original and creative way to encourage audiences to actively participate in the artwork, fostering synergies between different actors without temporal, spatial, or generational limitations.
Digital Art, New Technologies, and Outreach
“Digital Art, Digital Culture” by Bakkali highlights a global, inclusive, educational, and participatory approach. It aims to democratize and universalize digital culture, create synergies, and bring new artistic narratives closer to the public through intuitive and freely accessible digital platforms and tools.
With this initiative, the focus is placed on the challenges and opportunities presented by art and new technologies beyond traditional art, entering the educational field and analyzing their uses and applications to enhance marketing and communication impact within the artistic and cultural sectors. The project explores innovative concepts such as digital art ecosystem, augmented reality, immersive spaces, etc., all connected through the unifying thread of art.
The Alliance Française of Madrid
“This year, I have had the honor of exhibiting at the Alliance Française of Madrid as part of its 40th anniversary. The experience has been exceptional, and there is nothing better than being able to expand it. It is an exciting and overwhelming challenge, just like the trajectory and prestige of the Alliance Française, with more than 140 years of history, championing the French cultural legacy worldwide.
The versatility of digital art, the power of creativity, and the usefulness of new technologies create a perfect combination that can undoubtedly continue to promote the French language, art, and culture of the future. I am very grateful to the Alliance Française of Madrid for its support and commitment.”
