“The power of art is unlimited, and new technologies further enhance this uniqueness. Thanks to the unique and immense network of talent of the Alliance Française, I have been able to bring my work closer to different cultures and sensitivities—the best example of the diversity represented by this institution, which boasts more than 140 years of legacy and looks toward a future of success and innovation. My heartfelt gratitude goes to all the dear friends who have made and continue to make it possible for my work to come to life in so many wonderful places, surrounding it with the best hosts and with great enthusiasm for building through friendship, diversity, and mutual respect. Thank you.” — Houda Bakkali
These exhibitions highlight beauty, color, dynamism, diversity, and a hopeful vision of life through the figure of women, as a tribute to the artist’s mother and to female power. At the same time, it seeks to exemplify the potential of digital art and technologies such as augmented reality, virtual spaces, and multimedia resources to create and disseminate messages, promote dynamic and two-way communication around the work and its exhibition spaces, and bring forward proposals in which the audience’s experience takes center stage. These tools make it possible to create and share art everywhere, at all times, in all versions, and for all people. Creativity that unites without limits.
COLOR, INSPIRATION, IMPACT, CREATIVITY
AUGMENTED REALITY
These exhibitions integrate physical and digital art, seeking a perfect fusion between traditional concepts and the most innovative technologies.
Through augmented reality, visitors can enjoy the digital versions of each physical artwork, see their animations, layers, and sounds. They can take part in the creative process, observe how the pieces evolve over time, intertwine, and merge with other works, spaces, and audiences. It is a different and playful way of discovering the artwork and experiencing it across all its stages and versions.
These exhibitions also open the door to debate about the challenges, uses, and benefits of this technology, promoting the idea of digital culture as an added value to traditional creative processes, as well as a powerful tool for dissemination and communication.
THROUGH ART AND TECHNOLOGY
VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE
So that the public can discover the different versions of each artwork, during the exhibition they will also be able to access a virtual gallery and immerse themselves in a 100% digital version of the show, without spatial or temporal limitations.
CULTURE, ART, EDUCATION, INNOVATION
DIGITAL CULTURE
The exhibitions are complemented by free educational gatherings and didactic content, both in the physical exhibition space and online. These resources will allow visitors to gain deeper insight into Houda Bakkali’s creative process, as well as some key ideas and concepts of digital art and augmented reality. They also foster debate and reflection on the uses of these technologies applied not only to the creative process but also to other areas and disciplines—thus taking the creativity–technology pairing beyond art itself.
