Houda Bakkali debuted her first augmented reality artwork at the inaugural contemporary art salon held after the COVID lockdown in August 2020. The event took place in the iconic Monte-Carlo Circus space, marking a significant return to the art world. Her vibrant mixed-media piece, Life is Beautiful, inspired by the essence of Monaco, blended color and innovation. The artwork was the first piece presented with augmented reality at that salon in Monte-Carlo, drawing significant attention from both the public and the press, achieving great success. Additionally, Bakkali’s artworks were showcased at various private events, incluiding the iconic Restaurant Le Pinocchio, further solidifying its cultural impact in the Principality of Monaco.
‘Monaco with Heart’ was created as a trilogy that “pays tribute to colour, feminine beauty, the joyful spirit and the dolce vita that Monaco inspires”.
The optimism shines through, and was made using perky themes such as flowers, polka dots, and the Mediterranean Sea to convey a joyful spirit, in what the artist calls “a life designed to be lived with harmony but also with intensity, in the purest Monegasque style, with its sunny days and nights of good friends.
