Houda Bakkali took part in the third edition of the International Contemporary Art Fair Artshopping Biarritz, held from June 4 to 6 at the iconic Palais Bellevue. The event brought together more than 50 international artists and galleries, reaffirming Biarritz as a key destination on the contemporary art scene.
“It is a true privilege to return to Artshopping Biarritz and exhibit at the Palais Bellevue, one of the city’s most emblematic buildings. Biarritz stands for class, sophistication, nature and, above all, culture. This year, I had the honor of presenting my work to local authorities who attended the opening, including Mayor Maider Arosteguy, Councillor for Culture Mathieu Bardiaux, and Councillor for Tourism Miren Juaristi, who were outstanding hosts,” said Bakkali.
Biarritz Through Augmented Reality
At the fair, Houda Bakkali presented her new series Deadly Sins, placing a strong emphasis on augmented reality. Through this technique, each artwork came to life within Biarritz’s iconic urban spaces and along its legendary beaches, where digital art merged with the waves and sand of the coast, creating a striking dialogue between technology and nature.
