Throughout my artistic career I have had the opportunity to exhibit in two international airports, the first two ever solo exhibitions that merged mixed media canvases with augmented reality and immersive spaces inside these airports. I have had the honour of signing the first extended reality project of the most universal literary work, Don Quixote de la Mancha. I have been able to share my vision on the empowerment of Arab women, for the first time ever, through different digital, multimedia and audiovisual formats, also physical canvases, to 6 civic centres of the Barcelona City Council. I had the honor to sign the first meeting on digital art and metaverse at the Work Café Alberto Aguilera of Santander Private Banking. In 2021 the iconic American magazine TIME invited me to be part of the first group of Web3 artists. Since 2009 I have developed an informative project on communication and health where art and new technologies have provided information through creative and dynamic spaces. I have experimented and I experiment with art in all its forms and formats for all fields and sectors, because art is a part of every field and sector. My art is every time, everywhere, in every versions.
My conclusion is that digital art is not the future, it is the present. It is not a trend is a fact. Nor is it something new, but it surprises us every day with new possibilities and options that allow us to democratise art, to bring it closer to new audiences, to give it new utilities and uses beyond the merely contemplative. Digital art has its own rhythms and spaces, and at the same time digital art can have the rhythm we want to give it and be in the space we want to give it. It does not replace, but complements. It enriches art and culture in general, giving new opportunities to artists and to the public who begin to participate actively in each piece and in all its versions. Digital art is also timeless. It has the capacity to create unique, dynamic and reinventable narratives. It is a tool for communication, marketing and entertainment. Art is creativity, concept soul and style. The art speaks itself. Digital tools, digital platforms, digital formats are just tools, platforms and formats. Art, in whatever form, will always be timeless and that makes it a unique commodity. Art is a commodity, a luxury because of its timelessness. Now it is more accessible thanks to the wider use of digital tools, platforms and formats. It is an extraordinary engagement tool for institutions and traditional spaces, and an extraordinary way to connect with new communities of artists and lovers of the most transgressive, unknown and unpredictable art. Digital art fulfils every single function we want it to. It follows the rules of traditional art while breaking the rules of traditional art. It allows the public to approach art without spatial, temporal or generational borders, in an enjoyable, understandable and simple way.
