“Africa, Sweet and Pop” marked the debut series of Houda Bakkali, created in 2008. This body of work pays homage to the beauty, strength, rhythm, and vibrant colors of Africa. Combining digital collage, illustration, and animation, the series reflects a dynamic and contemporary artistic vision. This work cemented Bakkali’s passion for emerging digital technologies and their integration into her creative process. Since then, the series has evolved continuously, taking on new forms and expanding into immersive and virtual environments, each canvas and animation becoming part of art’s broader evolution and its adaptation to the digital age. Here, Bakkali explores the dialogue between tradition and innovation, pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling through technology while maintaining a deep connection to the emotional and symbolic power of art.
